One of the pure joys of being in this board gaming hobby is the yearly coming together of the community to celebrate gaming in Dallas at the BoardGameGeek.Con.  This year went off like gang busters and we’d like to give a large I, Geek THANK YOU to Jeff Anderson and his team.

In spite of a lack of any major hit board games to focus on this year, this convention still felt like a home run in every sense of the word.  Registration was smooth, the vendor halls were open and flowed well, the hot games were set up well and didn’t impede on any unnecessary gaming tables, and everyone seemed genuinely pleased to be at the event.

Now that the gushy lovefest is over with, let’s get into what BGG.Con was all about this year.  In this episode we discuss all manner of new “Hot” games such as Captain Sonar, Great Western Trail, and Adrenaline.  We also spend some time discussing our time in the vendor halls during the press hours afforded to us on that first Wednesday of the convention.  We discuss the sleeper hit of the week which turned out not to be a board game at all, and we finish with a discussion of some of the outstanding memories we have from that week in mid November.

In all BGG.Con 2016 was a spectacular time and we hope our show reflects that.

Happy Holidays from I, Geek and as always…
